2007: Year in Review

January 1, 2008

Much like 2006, 2007 was a pretty busy year.

Diesel

This year Diesel turned 5 years old; I can’t believe that my baby boy is so old already!! He also started school and LOVES his pre-K class. He’s learning his alphabet, numbers, and can tell you what letter just about any word starts with. Currently he is juggling TWO girlfriends at school but is conflicted as to who he likes more, Safije or Leena.

Back in January 2007 Diesel looked like this:

And now just 11 months later, he looks like a much older kid!

Kinhly

Our once sweet little girl has really blossomed during 2007. Her language skills really concerned me in the first half of the year, but she has made huge strides in the last few months and is gaining words daily. Now 90% of what comes out of her mouth consists of full sentences! She’s become very independent, a busy body, and a mommy’s little helper/ankle grabber all at once!

When 2007 first started, Kinhly looked like a baby with her round little face and short hair:

Now 11 months later she’s quite the little lady with an attitude to match!

Lola

2007 was a huge year for Lola. Now she’s reaching 15 weeks old and is literally changing on a daily basis. Just about anything can make her smile and coo, right before that same thing will make her cry.

In January she looked like this:

Now it’s 2008 and she’s a stunning little angel who is just over 3 months old!

2008

This next 12 months is going to be very exciting. Hopefully we’ll be welcoming the final member of our family, Matt will be getting a new job, together we’ll be celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary, Diesel will be starting Kindergarten, and with any luck, I’ll finally be starting grad-school for social work!

We usually wait until Tet to start with the resolutions but I know that they will include weight loss, paying off debt, not yelling, and finishing the new site.

  1. The site is looking great! Also, beautiful children! My little Aubrey will be turning 16 weeks this Saturday. Don’t you just love those gummy little infant smiles? And the sort of gasping laughter that comes out when they see something that really delights them!

Happy New Year! Have a fantastic 2008!

  4. Gummy smiles are the best. It is truly amazing to see the changes just a few months makes. It is a pleasure and a joy to keep up with each other through our blog-tales, as I like to call them. And I must of missed something….#4?!? I better go catch up on the archieves.

  5. I started reading your blog earlier in 2007, I think when I was about 3-4 months preggo. Our pregnancies coinsided – my baby girl was born August 29th. I really enjoy reading your blog, but this is my first time commenting. You have an adorable family! I love catching up with you :) You are also very close to my home, I am only a few hours away, up in Tri-Cities, WA. Well I just wanted to say your site looks great and keep up the hard and good work! Happy 2008!

  6. I love the new look!! It looks fantastic. What a year 2007 was; I hope for the best for your family for 2008.
